Council tax rebate update – list of areas where £150 is hitting bank accounts THIS WEEK
COUNCILS have started to pay out £150 tax rebates this week, with thousands of households receiving the cash.
Families across the country are expecting the one-off freebie to land in their accounts within days.
The rebate is being given to help residents cope with the rising cost of living.
In total, around 80% of households are set to get the cash but the date it's paid depends on which local council area you're in.
People who live in council tax bands A to D are eligible for the grant, which doesn't have to be paid back.
Those who pay by direct debit will get the payment first and other residents will have to apply directly to their council.

Hull Council confirmed on Wednesday that it had begun to process its first batch of payments to 30,000 residents.
The local authority is paying the cash into the bank accounts households use to pay their council tax.
Payments will continue to arrive through April and May.
Families in the West Midlands started to receive their £150 council tax rebates yesterday.
Around 23,000 residents in Nuneaton and Bedworth have received the cash, according to the .
Those households paid their council tax bill by direct debit on April 1, the council said.
People who paid later will have to wait a bit longer to receive their rebate.
Stockton-on-Tees council said payments will land in bank accounts from today.
If you don't pay by direct debit you will have to apply for the rebate from the council.
