Greggs is set to open a flagship megastore this summer and fans are all saying the same thing
GREGGS will open a flagship megastore this summer as part of the bakery chain's expansion plans - and fans are excited.
The huge new branch is just one of the Greggs stores opening across the UK this year, with 150 sites planned for 2022.
Londoners and tourists will be able to visit the megastore at 1 Leicester Square this summer.
But Greggs, which was founded in Newcastle around 80 years ago, hasn't revealed the exact opening date yet.
It teased the announcement by installing a hoarding with a photo of a giant steak bake in the iconic London location.
Excited Greggs fans took to Twitter to celebrate the announcement, saying the Northern chain is taking over the capital.

When it launches, customers will be able to buy all their Greggs' favourites, including its breakfast deal until 11am.
Sandwiches, pastries and cakes will all be on the menu.
There will also be some new items, exclusive to the baker's branches in the capital, including Tottenham Cake and London Cheesecake.
You'll be able to click and collect to skip the queue and earn rewards through the Greggs loyalty scheme app.
A spokesperson for Greggs said: “We’re excited to premiere our delicious food to new customers, including many tourists from outside of the UK who will get the opportunity to experience Greggs for the first time.”
The flagship launch comes as Greggs looks to increase the number of stores it has in central London.
It follows recent openings in The Strand, Canary Wharf, Paddington, St Pancras Station and Kings Cross.
But sausage roll fans across the rest of the country won't miss out, as Greggs has its sights set on 150 openings this year.
That will take the total number of branches to just under 2,500, but it hasn't revealed the locations.
It recently opened its biggest branch so far in Primark - and launched a clothing range with the fashion chain.
