That means, one summer on, shoppers have to part with another £50 to make a purchase.

"Expensive for what it is," said one shopper marvelling the slide on .

Another said: "Overpriced."

While a third said: "Wow that's nearly £300."

And a fourth said: "300 quid though? I was hoping it would be more like £150."

It wouldn't be the only product to see a steep increase in price since last year.

Aldi brought back its popular hanging egg chair earlier this year, but shoppers noticed it was £40 more this time around.

But that didn't stop them impressively clearing stock in under an hour - forcing Aldi to declare the product officially sold-out by just 9am the day it dropped.

And not everybody was so upset with the price of the new water slide either - some shoppers didn't mind splashing out.

"Not going to lie, I'd love this," one said.

"This would be great for the kids!" another agreed.

The inflatable water slide stands 3.35m high, it's 4m long, and 2.3m wide when its all blown up.

It features a ladder so children can climb to the top, before whizzing down the slide into the attached paddling pool.

There's even a water cannon to spray other players.

The set it made from polyester and laminated PVC, and is suitable for children aged between three and 10-years-old - so sorry parents, you just get to cough up the funds.

Thankfully, the kit comes with an air blower though, so you won't have to puff up your lungs to get it going.

There's also a repair kit to help you fix the inflatable if it accidentally comes into contact with anything sharp.

If you're after a water slide for your own back garden you should have a shop around - Aldi's Specialbuys are always popular, but you might find a better deal elsewhere.
