IRRESISTIBLE: Resistance bands are great for strength training. GymShark is selling long, light-resistance bands for £5, down from £10.

STEP UP: Aerobic step platforms are useful for both cardio and strength training for legs. The Denny International adjustable aerobic step is £13.97, down from £15.97, on Amazon. Or find a staircase and use the bottom step as an alternative.

WEIGH IT UP: If you don’t want to splash out on weights, scan your home for heavy items you can grip safely. Think water bottles, milk cartons and tins of beans. If you prefer the real deal, you can buy a 12kg Everlast dumbbell set from Sports Direct for £14.99, down from £17.99.
