M&S apologises after sending hundreds of texts with customers’ delivery details to the wrong people
M&S customers have been sent texts with other people's delivery details in them in error by the high street giant.
One shopper was baffled after he claimed he got more than 100 text messages for packages which weren't his.
He said he had been sent "pages and pages" of links to other people's parcels after ordering some bedding, the .
The text messages contained information about exactly where the other parcels had been delivered, and pictures of where the parcels had been left.
The customer, called Tom, said: "Someone could have used that information to drive around and pick all those parcels up."
However, he said that no card details, names or numbers were included in the texts.
An M&S spokesperson said that less than 1% of all orders over a period of one day were affected by a glitch.
"Due to a technical error, a small number of customers received incorrect text notifications," they said.
They added that the issue was "quickly identified and resolved" and that the shop was "apologising to [the customer] for the inconvenience caused".
If you were affected, there is no need to do anything, M&S said, because the error has been fixed and all customers should have received their parcels.
M&S shoppers aren't the only ones to have been hit by a glitch recently.
Asda shoppers were unable to edit their online shopping orders due to a technical blip earlier this month.
It meant that shoppers who made changes when the crash occurred could have received the wrong items.
And Boots shoppers desperate to bag a bargain had to wait another day before they could shop for their hauls in Boots' 70% off sale.
