For instance, Aptamil Organic 1 First Infant Milk from Birth 800g rose from £12 to £13.50 early this month in Sainsbury’s.

And Cow & Gate 1-2 Years Growing Up Milk 200ml increased 5p to 75p in Tesco.

The data from analysts Assosia was published in trade magazine The Grocer.

Danone — owners of both Aptamil and Cow & Gate — said: “We understand that changes in price can cause concern and frustration.”

Nestlé, which owns SMA and Little Steps, said: “We’re doing everything we can to manage these costs.”
