Eight top airfryer deals and cheap meal ideas
CUT the cost of cooking and rustle up some tasty treats with an air fryer.
The handy gadgets, which use a fraction of the oil of normal frying, are cheaper to buy than they were, and have racked up just shy of a million Insta hashtags so far this year.
So grab a bargain fryer and get saving with my tips.
LEW BEAUTY: Using price comparison site idealo.co.uk, I found Lewis’s 2.4l compact air fryer for £40, down from £79.99 at tjhughes.co.uk. That’s a steal. Wilko also has an own-brand version for £35.
LOVELY LEFTOVERS: Turn leftover roast meat into filling for crispy tacos in an air fryer and transform leftover mac ’n’ cheese into crispy mac ’n’ cheese bites — a lot cheaper than Sainsbury’s £2.60 version.
FAB FAKEAWAYS: The average cod and chips comes in at just over £8 per portion in London. So take advantage of the Iceland Young’s Gastro battered fish offer (two packs of two fillets for £5) and add the two packets of fries for £4.50 deal. That’s four fish and chip suppers for £9.50 with some fries left over.

SPEEDY SERVINGS: An air fryer tends to be a quicker way to cook the dishes you love, which might help trim your bills. For example, oven fries take around 30 minutes in a conventional cooker but in an air fryer, it is half the time.
You can enjoy a great saving by making chips, too. Grab a bag of spuds, 49p per kilo at Aldi at the moment, down from 79p, and get chopping. Cook them in your air fryer and you’ll still have leftover potatoes for another portion later in the week.
GREASE LIGHTENING: Lots of airfryer recipes don’t need any oil and if they do, it’s usually only around 1 to 2tsp per session. This is a lot less than most oven recipes, so it will make your bottle of cooking oil go that much further.
DISH LIST: Manufacturers often offer free recipes on their sites. Check Pinterest for “air fyer recipe e-book”. You’ll find loads to download free
