The Treasury yesterday announced the boost for everyone on bands A to D as an extra measure of support for those on the low and mid incomes.

The rebate will be on your 2022/23 council tax bill.

During a press conference last night, Chancellor Rishi Sunak said government measures would cover around half of the price cap increase.

Around 80% of households will be eligible for the help, Mr Sunak said yesterday.

As it's based on property values, regions with a higher proportion of lower value houses will benefit the most.

For example, in the north east, 1.1million of the 1.3million properties will be eligible for help, according to the latest available figures.
