Incredible one-of-a-kind £1.5m mansion hides a very fun secret – as it’s filled with a bowling alley and CLOWNS

A ONE-of-a-kind mansion has gone on the market for £1.5million - and it hides a very fun secret.

The funfair themed house in St Leonard’s-on-Sea, East Sussex, comes complete with its very own bowling alley, as well as a flashing neon clown and coconut shy.

Its pride and joy is the huge bowling lane in the lounge where the new owners and their guests can perfect their strikes.

The 4,000sq ft property is a former Victorian Turkish bathhouse and dates back to the 1870s.

But there is little sign of any water inside now, with the current owners instead decking it out with carnival-inspired goodies.

Agents Platform Property, who are selling the house, said it was a “truly one of a kind property.”

They said: “It was formally a Victorian Turkish bathhouse, school swimming house and a glass factory, and is now a simply stunning family home.

“This incredible residence is positioned in a favoured location in St.Leonards-On-Sea, a stone's throw from the seafront.

“Effortlessly combining an eclectic mix of fun features, Turkish inspired decor and Victorian character, the Bath House boasts a wonderful open-plan living area equipped with its very own bowling alley, a cinema room, three further double bedrooms, three bathrooms and a courtyard area with distant sea views.

“This truly is a home like no other.”

The home has a combined living room, dining room and kitchen, an outside courtyard, mezzanine level, four bedrooms and a utility room.

The main bedroom has a freestanding bath and a nod to the building’s seaside heritage with a rubber life ring and deckchairs.

Amazingly the old swimming pool can also be accessed via a hatch and stairs from the kitchen.

Prices in St Leonard’s have boomed thanks to its varied houses and proximity to the sea.

RightMove says the average price in the area is now £294,941 with flats the majority of sales.

However detached properties sell for an average of £418,637 and semi detached homes for £340,765.

Overall, sold prices in St. Leonards-On-Sea over the last year were 10% up on the previous year and 20% up on the 2019 peak of £245,531.
