Five tricks to save cash on children’s toys this Christmas
TIME is running out to order Christmas toys . . . but don’t panic. Getting a good deal is child’s play.
Some shops have discounted stock and there’s still time to plan, compare and save.
Follow our tips to save on toy gifts this festive season.
DISCOUNT DELIGHT: Argos is selling loads of toys at a discount, including some at half-price.
That includes a Hot Wheels Ultimate City Track set at £45, reduced from £90.
Early Learning Centre has also cut 20 per cent off the cost of selected toys.
SAVE: £45 on the Argos deal
PRICE SPY: Popular toys will be sold by multiple outlets but not always at the same price.
At the time of comparing, a Vtech Kidizoom Duo Camera 5.0 was £44.99 at Currys but £39.99 from Smyths Toys.
When you know what you want, search online for each shop’s prices first.
SAVE: £5 at Smyths
I WOOD: Children who like using their imaginations still find value in classic wooden toys, even in the gadget era.
Consider supermarkets like Aldi when hunting for wooden gifts, as there are big savings to be found.
A wooden toy shop and café from JoJo Maman Bebe, for example, is selling for £119.95. But a similar role-play shop and theatre is 29.99 online from Aldi.
Lidl launched its wooden toy range this month, with prices starting from £1.99, dolls’ houses from £29.99, workbenches and a play kitchen costing £49.99. Well worth a look.
