Best supermarket Christmas desserts including Asda, Iceland and Sainsbury’s

IF you've got a sweet tooth but aren't a fan of a Christmas pud, there are still plenty of delicious desserts to get stuck into.

Supermarkets are going all out this year to create an array of tempting treats to follow your festive feast.

From the gooey to the chocolatey, and the sparkly to the crumbly, we've rounded up some of the best desserts on the market this Christmas.

Asda

Chocoholics are sure to love the Asda Extra Special Chocolate Orange Bauble.

The lustrous moulded chocolate shell looks too good to eat - well, almost.

Priced at £10, the shell is made from Belgian dark chocolate and filled with layers of fresh orange curd, chocolate sponge, blood orange caramel, and chocolate mousse.

And if you can't convince the kids to eat their brussel sprouts with Christmas dinner, you might have more luck getting them to eat a slice of Bruce and Betty the brussel sprout.

The Bruce and Betty range is full of cakes, biscuits and mini roll all adorned with the cute character designs.

But the stars of the show are the big cakes themselves - chocolate sponge with chocolate frosting and a soft, green icing on top.

Priced at £11 each - Bruce and Betty might not be one of your five a day, but they'll brighten up the Christmas dessert table.

Aldi

If you're looking for a centrepiece for the Christmas dinner table, Aldi's got you covered.

Its Specially Selected Raspberry and White Chocolate Christmas Tree was named best centrepiece dessert at the Quality Food Awards, and certainly looks impressed.

The 540g tree is packed with layers of mousse and sponge, and also comes in a Black Forest flavour if white chocolate isn't your thing.

Priced at £7.99, it'll be available in store from November 15.

Iceland

Snickers fans need look no further than Iceland's impressive Luxury Giant Chocolate Bar from Iceland.

The oversized chocolate bar has a brownie base and is topped with a layer of peanut caramel, chocolate mousse and then coated in a creamy milk chocolate.

The decadent dessert, which costs £6, won the title of best dessert in BBC Good Food's Christmas Taste Awards this year too.

The judge's said there was a good level of sweetness from the distinct layers and a moreish mousse, concluding: "What's not to love?"

For more traditional dessert fans, Iceland has a Luxury Chocolate Praline Garland that's sure to please.

The £7 dessert is constructed from a huge choux pastry ring, which is filled with praline cream and chocolate and hazelnut flavoured sauce.

Decorated with chocolate ganache and a sprinkling of nuts, it's available in stores from November 8.

Marks & Spencer

The Night Before Christmas Smash Cake might not look like your traditional Christmas cake, but it's sure to please those who prefer a traditional cake over one stuffed with currants and sultanas.

The Madeira sponge cake from M&S is filled with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream, but the real treat is on top.

When you smash the edible dome you'll find a bunch of Christmassy sweet treats.

The 845g cake is among the priciest in our group but serves 12.

For dessert-lovers looking for something truly indulgent, the Collection Sticky Toffee Pudding Crown should fit the bill.

The decadent dessert weighs in at a whopping 1.4kg.

The crown-shaped sticky toffee pudding comes with a salted caramel sauce and creamy vanilla custard.

Priced at £20, it's not available in store until December 18 but you can pre-order online.

Sainsbury's

Another gooey sweet sensation comes in the form of Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Salted Caramel and Chocolate Star.

The stylish centrepiece is a star-shaped white chocolate shell filled with Belgian chocolate mousse and a hidden salted caramel centre, sitting on a base of crumbly shortbread pieces.

It's finished off with a gold shimmer, and priced at £12.

Finally, for a bit of festive fun, why not tuck in to this Snowman Cheesecake.

It's not your traditional Christmas dish, but it's sure to be a hit at the dinner table.

The cute snowman shape is made up of baked vanilla cheesecake, sitting on a buttery biscuit base and topped off with cereal ball buttons and a smiley face.

Best of all, it's only £5.
