KFC is running out of food AGAIN as it warns about food shortages due to ‘weeks of disruption’

KFC has warned customers that some menu items are unavailable due to food shortages after "weeks of disruption".

The fast food chain issued a statement last night to tell fried chicken fans that "things may be a little different" in store.

It is the second time the fast food giant has faced problems with supplies.

The chain ran out of chicken in 2018 and was forced to close more than 600 branches across the UK.

At the time it blamed the lack of chicken on teething problems with new delivery firm DHL.

Recently, food chains, restaurants, pubs and retailers have been facing disruption due to a shortage of delivery drivers across the UK.

KFC did not say which menu items were affected, or how long the disruption is expected to last.

Some customers have taken to social media to complain that mini fillets, gravy, BBQ and sweet chilli bites and rice boxes are out of stock.

The company hasn't announced any store closures due to the latest food-supply issue.

It isn't just food that is in short supply at KFC, as it also said packaging could "look a little different to normal".

In a post on Twitter KFC said: "Just a heads up that across our country, there's been some disruption over the last few weeks - so things may be a little different when you next visit us.

"You might find some items aren't available or our packaging might look a little different to normal.

"We know it's not ideal, but we're working hard to keep things running smoothly."

Britain has a shortage of 100,000 lorry drivers, exacerbated by the test and trace pingdemic.

We reported yesterday that pubs and restaurants might not have enough beer over the August bank holiday weekend after delivery drivers voted to go on strike

Supermarket shelves have also been left empty due to the staffing crisis.

The government has put army HGV drivers on standby to relieve the UK's trucker and food shortages.
