How dads can get free and discounted food and booze this Father’s Day

FATHER'S Day is here and it's the perfect opportunity to spoil dad with some posh grub.
If you're looking for something special, we've put together a list of places offering freebies and discounts so you won't go over budget.
Father’s Day doesn't fall in the same date every year, although it is always the third Sunday of June. This year it's June 20 - that's today.
You might have left gift buying until the last minute though, so a trip out for lunch to celebrate will be the perfect way to redeem yourself.
Lots of restaurants are offering freebies on food and drink for dads - here's what you can bag so there's no need to spend more than you need to.
Get a FREE pint at Sizzling pubs
Dads can get a on Sunday by downloading the app.
You'll need to show to a member of staff that you've registered with it when you order your food and drink.
The offer entitles dads to enjoy a free pint of Carling, Doom Bar or Coors Light as long as an adult main meal is bought too.
At least one full priced main meal has to be purchased with each free drink and it's only valid after 12pm on June 20.
How to save money eating out
THERE are a number of ways that you can save money when eating out. Here's how:
Discount codes - Check sites like Sun Vouchers or for any discount codes you can use to get money off your order.
Tastecard - This is a members club where you pay to have access to discounts worth up to 50 per cent off at thousands of restaurants. It costs £4.99 a month or £34.99 for the year.
Loyalty schemes - Some restaurants will reward you with discounts or a free meal if you register with their loyalty scheme, such as Nando's where you can collect a stamp with every visit. Some chains like Pizza Express will send you discounts for special occasions, such as your birthday, if you sign up to their newsletter.
Voucher schemes - Look out for voucher schemes offered by third party firms, such as Meerkat Meals. If you compare and buy a product through CompareTheMarket.com then you'll be rewarded with access to the discount scheme. You'll get 2 for 1 meals at certain restaurants through Sunday to Thursday.
Student discounts - If you're in full-time education or a member of the National Students Union then you may be able to get a discount of up to 15 per cent off the bill. It's always worth asking before you place your order.
Sadly you can only get one free pint per table so it'll only be Dad cashing in on the offer.
You can swap the beer for a non-alcoholic beverage by asking a member of staff.
Get a FREE drink at Cafe Rouge
Cafe Rouge has a voucher you can download that entitles dads to a free drink at the restaurant.
You can claim the freebie when ordering a main from the a la carte or set menu on Sunday.
Just enter your email address into and you'll be sent your voucher - remember to bring it with you when you visit either on your phone or printed out.
The voucher entitled you to a free pint of Stella Artois, a 250ml glass of house wine, a 125ml glass of Prosecco or a single Beefeater gin and Schweppes tonic.
Alternatively, you can grab a glass of Coke or Diet Coke or a glass of lemonade in the offer.
The code is valid for one free drink per dad but you can get a maximum of three free drinks per table.
This one isn't valid with any other offers, bundles or Tesco Clubcard tokens and you can't use it at Center Parcs or for a delivery or takeaway order.
FREE nachos on offer at Chiquito
You'll be able to snap up with every main at Chiquito this Father's Day.
The offer is already running from today so you don't have to wait until Sunday to claim the freebie.
There's not much you have to do to claim either you just have to register an account at Chiquito and add the Father's Day code to your account's "wallet".
Then you'll be able to redeem this QR code when you're in the restaurant just bring it along with you.
Get a FREE Peroni at Pizza Express
You can get a free Peroni Libera at Pizza Express.
The freebie is valid with the purchase of a main meal.
To claim head to the where you'll be prompted to enter your postcode and find the restaurant you want to visit on Sunday, then you'll have to fill out a form with all your details.
You don't have to make an account as you can redeem as a guest but you'll still need to make sure everything is accurate so you can get your code sent through via email.
Pub and Restaurant Covid rules
IF you're dining out this Father's Day you'll want to be aware of the rules in place at venues. Those include:
- The rule of six inside
- Party up to 30 allowed outside
- Only table service allowed
- Contactless ordering where available
- Relaxed limits on max number of customers
- Staff must wear masks and gloves
- Customers must each check in with the NHS app
- Social distancing to be adhered to
You can claim the free beer until the end of the day on Sunday.
All you need to do is show the code you're sent to your waiter or waitress either on your phone, or printed out.
Get a FREE Carling at Buzz Bingo
You'll be able to get a free pint of Carling at each of Buzz Bingo’s 91 clubs.
It's a great offer if you don't fancy buying food on Father's Day and would rather do an activity with Dad instead.
The deal will be available across the country, while stock lasts.
You'll be given a voucher when purchasing bingo tickets which entitles you to one free pint of Carling lager.
You can use the Bingo giant's to locate where your closest is and cash in on the freebie.
25% off at Beefeater
You'll be able to get 25% at Beefeater this Father's Day.
The restaurant is selling a limited edition Big Daddy Burger this weekend too so you'll be able to use the discount on the special.
All you need to do to secure the money-off food is before you go.
It can take up to 48 hours to receive your unique discount code after registering on the website, so make sure you sign up as early as you can to use this coupon.
WIN a draught machine from Bella Italia
Bella Italia isn't giving away any free drinks on Father's Day but the restaurant is running a competition for dad to win a home draught machine to pour pints without having to head out to the pub.
on Facebook or twitter and all you have to do is share a memory with your dad.
The competition closes on Sunday at 11:59pm so you'll have to be quick if you still want to enter.
Prize winners will be picked at random the day after and messaged directly via social media platform they entered on.
You could win a which can retail for up to £400, or you could win £150 worth of Red Letter Days vouchers.
There's only two chances of winning the machine and five chances of winning the vouchers though.
