If you sign up and it turns out you'd have spent less on delivery without it, you'll be sent a voucher within 21 days to cover the difference.

The scheme is currently only open to existing customers so Tesco can support existing and vulnerable shoppers during the Covid crisis.

We’ve asked Tesco when new customers will be able to sign up for the service, and we’ll let you know as soon as we know more.

All other customers not on the Delivery Saver plan will be able to book Easter delivery slots from March 15.

Delivery fees cost between £4.50 and £5.50 at Tesco depending on where your order is fulfilled by either a supermarket or warehouse.

There's also a £4 surcharge for deliveries worth under £40.

Will I be able to get a slot?

Tesco has upped the number of delivery slots available per week to 1.5million - more than double what it offered before the Covid lockdown.

The supermarket is prioritising vulnerable customers for deliveries, and you can only order one slot per week.

But slots may be in high demand over the Easter break, and shoppers might want consider booking one soon to avoid missing out.

In the run up to Easter last year, Tesco’s boss pleaded with shoppers to leave delivery slots to the elderly and vulnerable.

However, Tesco has more availability this Easter than ever before, so you’ll have a better chance at bagging one.

The supermarket has also employed tens of thousands of temporary staff to help it cope with a spike in demand over the latest Covid lockdown.
