Restaurants and pubs will be allowed to reopen for outdoor bookings on April 12, with indoor bookings resuming from May 17.
However, the PM stressed that benchmark numbers for Covid cases, hospital admissions, vaccinations and deaths, will need to be met before each step in his plan can be taken.
Despite giving businesses a date to aim for, Harvester and Toby Carvery owners Mitchells & Butlers slammed the plans for "yet again pushing the hospitality sector's reopening to the back of the queue".
Even so, within hours of the announcement, eager pub goers rushed to book tables at pubs and restaurants for when they reopen.
For independent pubs you'll need to check their website to find out exactly when they plan to reopen and whether they're accepting bookings.
In the meantime, here's everything you need to know about booking a table at a Young's, Weatherspoons, Greene King or Fuller's pub.
Greene King
Greene King has not confirmed whether it will open pubs that have outdoor space for al fresco bookings on April 12.
It has also not confirmed if boozers will open by May 17 when the Government guidelines change.
We've contacted Greene King for their latest update and will add to this page when we know more.
For now, punters are unable to make a booking for mid-April onwards but this will change once Greene King finalises its plan.
Customers will then be able to book a table via the free app or website by entering the postcode.
Alternatively, you can call your local branch and make a booking over the phone.
In July, Greene King pubs opened two days after they were officially allowed to, giving branches enough time to make sure they were Covid-19 safe.
Fuller's
Fuller's has confirmed it plans to reopen 68 pub gardens from April 12.
It's also opened for table bookings at some of the pubs, and you can do it by using its pub locator tool on .
Simply search for your nearest pub by area and select the one you wish to book at.
In the pubs that are open outside from April 12, you can meet outside as a group of up to six people, or a group of two households.
The Sun has asked Fuller's whether all pubs will then reopen on May 17 and when it'll start accepting indoor bookings.
We haven't yet heard back, so we'll update this article once we do.
Fuller's has almost 400 pubs throughout London and the South East.
Wetherspoons
Wetherspoons will open almost 400 in pubs England for outdoor service from April 12 when lockdown restrictions ease.
Customers will be able to sit in beer gardens, rooftop gardens and patios at 394 Wetherspoons branches.
Wetherspoons has 875 pubs in total across the UK, but not all have outdoor space so some won't be able to welcome back customers until later.
Boozers will be open from 9am until 9pm from Sunday to Thursday, and from 9am until 10pm on Friday to Saturday.
Pubs reopening in April must offer table service under the Government's Covid-secure guidelines.
Wetherspoons customers will be able to pay through the free app, although staff members will still be on hand to take orders and payment at the table.
While some pubs and restaurant chains are already accepting bookings, 'Spoons won't be.
Instead, customers will have to wait until they turn up at a branch before finding out whether there's a free table.
It means punters may be asked to wait outside until space frees up at busier times.
Pubs are not allowed to open for indoor bookings until May 17, but customers will be able to go inside a Wetherspoons to gain access to the outdoors area and use the toilets.
Customers can also expect to be asked to handover contact details for the test and trace system, so authorities can track and monitor any coronavirus outbreaks.
Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: "We are looking forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs."
A spokesperson previously told The Sun they are confident branches will open on May 17 when indoor bookings are allowed.
