Valentine’s Day flowers that look NOTHING like their pictures
LOVERS receiving a bouquet of flowers on Valentine's Day could be left disappointed if their gift arrives broken, battered or dying.
But pick the right bunch and you could win over hearts.
That could be especially important this February 14 as couples are stuck in lockdown, unable to go out and celebrate.
So which online retailer will deliver the best blooms?
Lynsey Hope ordered six bunches to find out which are most likely to put your other half in the mood for romance.
Each bouquet was rated out of 10 for price, value for money, appearance, and speed of delivery.
Your refund should include the initial cost of the flowers, as well as any delivery charges.
To start the process, you need to take a picture of your flowers to support your complaint - this goes for whether you're the sender, or receiver.
Then provide the florist with as much information about your order as possible, include any order numbers and the delivery address.
You will also be able to get the delivery charges refunded if you paid extra for it to be delivered on a specific day.
Here's how Lynsey ranked the roses, from best to worst:
eFlorist: 2/10
Mixed Roses: £24.99, and £5.99 delivery. Total: £30.98.
Lynsey says: "This bunch was 1p cheaper than M&S, but nearly £6 for delivery.
"These were not good value for money.
"They were advertised as a dozen red roses, but when they arrived, they looked much smaller than the bunch advertised on eFlorist's website.
"This is because there are 24 in the photo used to sell the dozen, so loved-up shoppers ordering these are likely to feel underwhelmed.
"The tissue paper had come undone on arrival and they looked untidy. I wouldn't order them again."
An eFlorist spokesperson said: "We send our courier bouquets whilst the flowers are still in bud, this means that the bouquet will need a good drink upon arrival.
"All of our bouquets come with a 7 day freshness guarantee, on the rare occasion that something does go wrong this will cover our customers and we make sure to send out a replacement bouquet."
Prestige Flowers: 5/10
Sent With Love: £23.49, plus £5.99 delivery. Total: £29.48.
Lynsey says: "On first inspection, these look great.
"It was quite a big bouquet but there were only six roses. Most of it was greenery.
"You get twice as many roses from M&S and they are £4.48 cheaper when you factor in the delivery cost.
"These also arrived a day later than I'd ordered because of the snow."
Funky Pigeon: 5/10
The Dozen Red & Pink Rose Bouquet with free Tatty Teddy: £29.99, and £4 delivery. Total: £33.99.
Lynsey says: "A lovely mix of colours though some of the rose petals looked a little damaged.
"They arrived on time, despite the February snow, with a little teddy thrown in for free.
"Perhaps a welcome addition if you want to please a little one as well as your other half."
M&S: 7/10
Valentine's Dozen Red Roses, £25, free delivery. Total: £25.
Lynsey says: "A great price from M&S, no delivery charge and they arrived on time.
"Even though there were a dozen, the bunch felt quite small when they arrived.
"But they have lasted well and looked beautiful once they came out in bloom."
Moonpig: 8/10
The Pink Blush: £28, and £2.99 delivery or £4.99 on February 14. Total: from £30.99.
Lynsey says: "Super pretty bouquet with pink roses, a lily, and some Eucalyptus and greenery to pad it out.
"It felt like better value for money than just roses.
"Arrived on time. I'd be happy to receive these."
Interflora: 10/10
Valentine's Gift Box made with premium roses: £35, and £7 delivery. Total: £42.
Lynsey says: "Arrived a day late because of snow and came in at £42 with the delivery charge, so definitely top end of the budget.
"However, these were definitely the loveliest roses and my pick of the bunch.
"There was much less spray than in the Interflora photo but the roses were so pretty they looked almost artificial.
"A lovely gift which would make anyone smile this lockdown Valentine's Day."
An Interflora spokesperson said: "When it comes to the most romantic day of the year we know that the roses have to be ruby red, long-stemmed and large headed.
"That's why our artisan florists use only the finest, most premium roses in their Valentine's Day creations.
"Each design is hand-crafted on the high street and hand-delivered for that extra special personal touch."
