Aldi apologises as 47 Specialbuy products delayed because of Covid
ALDI has apologised to customers who will have to wait weeks to buy some Specialbuy items.
Delays caused by covid mean shoppers are unable to get hold of nearly 50 bargain products which were expected to go on sale throughout January.
Specialbuys are promoted online and in leaflets before they are available to buy.
They go on sale on Sunday and Thursday each week and some items are also available for pre-order before that.
Specialbuy products come in limited quantities with bargain price tags.
In an update to customers online, Aldi said: "Unfortunately some Specialbuys may not be available as advertised.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that these products will be available in store and online very shortly."

Baby items from Aldi's popular baby event, including sleepsuits, a cot and a changing unit which had been due to go on sale last week are not expected until mid-February.
Disappointed shoppers complained to Aldi on Twitter that they could not find what they were looking for.
One shopper said: "Have some items from the baby event been delayed? We saved our essential shop until today and were very disappointed by the amount of products missing which was advertised in the leaflet".
Kitchen items which had been billed for launch yesterday (Thursday January 21) and this Sunday (January 24) are now not expected until next month in some cases.
Specialbuys affected by the delays are expected to be available between "late January" and "late February" with no specific date given.
A spokesperson for Aldi said: “Our colleagues and suppliers are working extremely hard to ensure our Specialbuys arrive as advertised, however due to the impact of Covid-19 on global shipping, some products have been delayed on their journey to local stores and online.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that these products will be available very shortly.”

Aldi is not the only one to be hit by covid delays.
Royal Mail has revealed that there are 28 areas across the country where postal services are disrupted.
Meanwhile the latest lockdown measures have closed non-essential shops, putting online delivery services under pressure as people shop on the web instead.
