It'll generally cost more for ones that are ready-filled, but you're paying for the luxury of not having to fill up the box yourself.
For ones that come empty, you can control the cost of filling it - plus, you can personalise it with exactly what your little one will love.
But you can save even more cash by ditching the box altogether and picking one or two individual Christmas goodies to give to your child.
Popular items that are often put inside Christmas Eve boxes include sweets, cookies for Santa and games to keep kids occupied.

This box has a jolly Chrsitmassy design. It is one of the cheaper options for Christmas eve and comes in recyclable cardboard.
The Tesco website offers of things you can fill it with, from dinosaur Top Trumps to Playdoh.

If you're buying online, Card Factory charges £2.99 for delivery. There are various options for how fast you want the delivery to be.

Poundland's Christmas Eve boxes start from £1 each, going up to £2 for medium-sized boxes, and £5 for its largest designs.
Sadly, Poundland doesn't offer online delivery so you'll need to check your nearest store to see if it's in stock.
- Amazon - £5.99 -
This box sold on Amazon has a cute North Pole themed design. It comes in flat pack so you'll need to assemble this one yourself.
Shipping is free, but you can pay a bit more. £6.80, to get it faster.
- Pound Toy - £10 -
Pound Toy's box will set you back a few more pounds than the others, but is made of wood so can easily be reused. It has a hinged lid and a slate you can personalise.
Standard delivery is £3.49 but free if you spend over £25.
- John Lewis - £15 -
A tasteful light wooden box, this is another option from John Lewis if you're looking for a keepsake wooden box you can use every year.
Delivery is free when you spend over £50 and extended returns run until 28 January 2021 if you do decide to send it back. Standard delivery costs £3.50.
- Asda - £2.50 -
Asda's Christmas eve box offers a for items to put in it. It also has a which comes in at 50p cheaper.
You can order this as part of your online shop or buy in store, so delivery costs will vary.
