The fast food chain has yet to reveal exactly which items will be included on its revised breakfast menu, or the location of the branches that will serve brekkie.

But we know it will include fan favourites McMuffins, pancakes and hash browns.

McDonald's has also confirmed that porridge, bagels and its breakfast wrap - which is made up of a sausage patty, bacon, a hash brown and cheese in a tortilla wrap - is off the menu.

It's also not yet announced the opening times of these restaurants.

Before lockdown, McDonald’s would serve breakfast until 11am in all branches.

Paul Pomroy, chief executive officer for McDonald's UK and Ireland, said in an email to customers: "As with our main menu, we will have a limited menu at breakfast but we’ve kept the classics – hash browns, McMuffins and pancakes all return.

"Unfortunately, whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines, we are unable to serve porridge, bagels and our Breakfast Wrap.

"This is because we have fewer people in the kitchen."

McDonald's has been slowly reopening branches after temporarily closing all 1,350 restaurants following the coronavirus lockdown.

It now has around 1,000 sites open for business, with a mixture of home delivery via Uber Eats and Just Eat, drive-thru and takeaway being offered.

Not all restaurants will offer each service, so be sure to check what your local is doing by using the .

In branches that are open for takeaway orders, hungry diners will find one-way systems in place, as well as hand sanitiser stations.

Customers will be able to use till points and self-service touch screens to order food, although a fewer number will be in operation.

These screens will be cleaned by staff every 30 minutes.

Alternatively, McDonald's customers can also order food for click and collect via the My McDonald's app.

Crucially, you still won't be able to sit inside and eat, as dining areas will remain closed.

Toilets are also out of bounds for customer use.

The amount of people allowed inside branches at one time will vary depending on the size of the restaurant.

If you choose to order food for home delivery via Uber Eats or Just Eat, just remember you'll pay a delivery fee on top of your order.

This will vary depending on how far away from the restaurant you are.

McDonald's is also continuing to ask customers to spend no more than £25 on orders, although this won't include your delivery fee if you're ordering from home.

This week saw McDonald's reopen its first 11 restaurants for walk-in takeaway orders.
