SPORTS Direct is the latest retailer to offer a discount to NHS workers, and it's giving staff 50 per cent off  for one day only.

The sportswear and kit company is reopening 374 stores on Monday June 15 as the country eases out of lockdown and the government allows non-essential shops to reopen.

To celebrate, it's giving NHS workers 50 per cent off menswear, womenswear, kids clothes and sporting equipment in store.

To get the discount, you must show your NHS ID badge before purchasing your goods.

The offer will only be available for one day only and it's only in store.

In a statement on its website, Sports Direct said: "As sport returns, one team gets all our support. Thank you team NHS from everyone at Sports Direct."

The Premier League returns on Wednesday June 17, with Man City vs Arsenal kicking the current campaign off.

If you're unable to make it to Sports Direct on Monday, there is still a 20 per cent off discount available on its website.

To get the deal, you must enter Summer20 off at the checkout. Delivery is not included, and varies between £4.99 or £7.99 depending if you want standard or next day delivery.

If you spend more than £100 delivery is free.

Sports Direct isn't the only retailer that is offering NHS workers discounts.

B&M, Morrisons and Just Eat have all given NHS staff money off their food or shopping over the past few months.

Meanwhile, some companies are fundraising for the NHS in different ways.

Aldi is selling tubs of rainbow ice cream to help raise money for NHS Charities Together and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

A Thank You NHS top has also been created to raise money for the NHS.

And Just Eat donated 20 per cent to NHS charities from orders placed on four Sundays in May.
