End of pick and mix? Wilko, Tesco and Morrisons axe unwrapped treats like jelly snakes and fried eggs
WILKO and two of the biggest UK supermarkets have ditched unwrapped pick and mix sweets.
Tesco no longer sells dozens of sweets including jelly snakes, cola bottles or fried eggs - and has instead replaced them with ones in wrappers.

While rival Morrisons has started selling pick and mix sweets in 50g mini bags.
Wilko temporarily axed its pick and mix range a few months ago following coronavirus safety fears.
It now says it's planning to "trial pre-packed tubs of favourite sweets soon", raising fears that pick and mix may never be sold in the same way again.
The Sun has asked Wilko whether it'll eventually bring back pick and mix in its previous format, and we'll update this article if we hear back.
The change at Tesco was spotted by Facebook page .
The change has led to mixed reactions among Facebook users, with one saying: "Oooo my kind of pick & mix nothing is touching."

While another added: "Aww this is a good idea."
And a third one said: "Aw not the same," while a fourth shopper said: "And how many people are opening the drawers to get the sweets??"
A spokesperson from Tesco said they introduced wrapper pick and mix in mid-May. It’s now available in 700 stores.
The supermarket sells 100g bags of pick and mix for 85p, a medium cup for £3 and a large sharing cup for £4.
Meanwhile, Morrisons shoppers can only buy 50g bags of each sweet they want and then must fill a cup or bag with the mini packs.
The changes were recently implemented in all 188 Morrisons with pick and mix, the supermarket told The Sun.
A Wilko spokesperson added: "The safety of our customers and team members is our top priority so we will only do so [bring back pick and mix] when we are confident we have the right solution."
