In addition, 26 restaurants in the UK are offering both drive-thru and delivery.

McDonald's has also reopened 85 locations in the Republic of Ireland - including 79 for drive-thru only and six for drive-thru and delivery.

Here's what you need to know.

Is McDonald’s open for drive-thru orders?

McDonald’s began offering drive-thrus by reopening 39 branches on May 20, including 33 restaurants in England and six more in the Republic of Ireland.

On June 2, it then reopened more drive-thrus, so a total of 160 were reopened.

And today (Thursday June 4), even more are reopening, which means McDonald's has now reopened all 924 UK and Ireland drive-thrus.

The drive-thrus open between 11am and 10pm - the same as newly reopened delivery-only restaurants.

The reduced hours are due to having less staff working in kitchens at one time.

Inside dining areas will remain closed to the public across every McDonald's restaurant until further notice.

But if you're keen to pop by, make sure you're not in a rush as some customers said they had to queue for two hours.

When will more McDonald’s stores reopen?

McDonald's closed all 1,350 UK branches on March 22 - a day before the country went into lockdown.

Most restaurants have now reopened either for drive-thrus or deliveries, with the remaining expected to open soon.

For non-drive-thru locations, you can order food from Uber Eats or via the My McDonald's app.

But if you're using Uber Eats, you'll need to remember to factor in a delivery charge, which varies depending on how far away from the restaurant you are.

The fast food chain is also now allowing click and collect orders via the My McDonald's app again.

Is McDonald's allowed to open drive-thrus and restaurants?

Yes, while restaurants aren't allowed to operate until at least July 4, firms can continue to offer takeaways throughout lockdown.

Speaking earlier in May, environment secretary George Eustice said the fast food chain was “made” for social distancing.

And using the drive-thru is allowed as the Prime Minister said Brits are allowed to take trips in their cars from Wednesday May 15.

But you can't visit the drive-thru on foot or by bike.

McDonald’s UK boss Paul Pomroy said: “When your local drive-thru does reopen, it will be different.

“Our service will not be as quick as you might be used to, as we adjust to smaller teams and social distancing in our kitchens.

“We expect there will be some queues for some of our busier sites and our restaurants will look different.

“I ask that you continue to be supportive of and patient with our restaurant teams as we slowly and safely return.”

He continued: “Learning from our initial phases,  we will start to return to towns and cities across the UK and Ireland and thank you for your continued support as we work through this crisis.

“We will continue to keep you updated via email, our website and our social media channels.”

McDonald's temporarily shut all 1,350 restaurants on March 23.
