Aldi May bank holiday opening times – what time do stores open and close on Sunday?

ALDI stores across the UK will remain open during this bank holiday weekend, but with slightly different opening hours.

Victory in Europe Day fell on Friday, May 8, and to mark the occasion, Brits celebrated with a bank holiday today.

Generally known as VE Day, it represents the day the Second World War ended in 1945.

Bank holidays in the UK usually fall on a Monday, but the government moved the early May bank holiday this year so it coincided with the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Below are Aldi's opening hours for the VE Day bank holiday weekend.

What time is Aldi open over the VE Day bank holiday weekend?

Yesterday, Aldi stores were open from 8am to 8pm on the bank holiday Friday, May 8.

Today, shops are open from 8am till 10pm, while they'll open their doors from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Aldi usually opens half an hour early for vulnerable and elderly customers Monday to Saturday and this will also apply to the bank holiday.

Closing times can vary from shop to shop though, so it's always important to check your local branch.

On April 14, Aldi extended its opening hours so shoppers can nab groceries until 10pm Monday to Saturday during normal weeks.

Does Aldi offer online delivery?

Yes, Aldi’s online delivery service is currently running as normal, although it only sells non-food items on its website.

Due to increased demand, the timeframe for deliveries has also been extended from three to ten working days.

A standard delivery is free for orders over £20 and costs from £2.95 for orders under £20.
