TGI Fridays is reopening 12 more restaurants for delivery and takeaways

AMERICAN restaurant chain TGI Fridays is reopening 12 more branches for delivery and takeaways tomorrow.

It follows reopenings from other high street restaurants including Nando's, KFC and Wagamama amid the coronavirus pandemic.

TGI Fridays will reopen the 12 more restaurants tomorrow, after opening 24 on Wednesday, May 6.

All branches will be available for click and collect orders, while the majority will also have home delivery options available.

For click and collect orders, customers will be able to pay for their food on the TGI Fridays website before collecting it from outside their nearest restaurant.

The inside of restaurants and seating areas will remain closed to the public.

  •  Bolton
  • Braintree
  • Coventry
  • Cribbs Causeway
  • Doncaster
  • Fareham
  • Glasgow – Buchanan Street (delivery only)
  • Manchester Piccadilly (delivery only
  • Milton Keynes Stadium (click and collect only)
  • Romford
  • Speke (click and collect only)

    The restaurant chain says social distancing measures will be in place when customers collect food.

    Home delivery orders will need to be placed through Deliveroo or Just Eat, depending on your location.

    Keep in mind that both food delivery apps charge a delivery fee based on how far away you are from the restaurant.

    Click and collect from TGI Friday is free.

    The newly reopened TGI Fridays will be open 12pm until 9pm.

    The restaurant chain has also confirmed it is running a reduced menu with 22 items available.

    It says this will include a range of a range of appetisers, mains, desserts and kids’ options.

    When we asked TGI Fridays what menu items customers will be able to order, they told us options include fan favourites such as Sesame Chicken Strips, Ultimate Double Glazed Ribs and the Classic American Burger.

    Customers won't be able to order alcohol, but soft drinks will still be available.

    TGI Fridays says it plans on opening more restaurants "as soon as it is safe to do so".

    The restaurant chain closed all branches on March 20, following the announcement that all non-essential establishments should close to stop the spread of coronavirus.

    TGI Fridays has 87 restaurants in the UK.

    Nandos has just reopened 54 more restaurants.

    Greggs is also reopening 800 branches.

    Yesterday, Boris Johnson announced that non-essential shops including clothes and betting shops could reopen on June 15.
