Screwfix Easter opening hours 2020: Bank holiday opening times and advice
IF you are planning to do some odd jobs around your house over the weekend then you might find yourself needing some tools or parts from a hardware store.
Under the government’s latest advice, hardware stores are able to remain open.
And Screwfix has been serving customers over the past few weeks - albeit with certain limitations in place.
But Easter weekend opening hours are sometimes different because both the Friday and Monday are Bank Holidays.
Also, most shops are required to close on Easter Sunday.
Is Screwfix open over the Easter weekend?
All Screwfix stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are closed on Sunday, April 12.
Shops in Scotland remain open.
However, like a number of other retailers, Screwfix stores are not open for browsing at present.
You can only use the stores if you have an online order to click and collect.
On Friday, Saturday and Monday, stores are open from 8am until 5pm.
Can I order online for click and collect?
You can still order online but unfortunately the cut-off for ordering to get delivery before the Easter weekend was 4pm on Wednesday, April 8 for the UK mainland, and 4pm on Tuesday, April 7 for Northern Ireland and remote areas.
But you can still go and collect orders which arrive in stores during their opening hours.
You can find your nearest store .
Can I get home delivery?
Screwfix is continuing to operate a home delivery service, but has warned this may be subject to delays and ranges may be limited during the coming weeks.
“The best way to track progress of your order is to click the tracking link in your despatch email sent shortly after placing your order,” the company said.
When is Easter in 2020?
Unlike Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day which all fall on fixed dates, Easter can be any time between March 22 and April 25.
In 2020 it falls on Sunday, April 12.
Good Friday is therefore April 10, and the Easter Monday bank holiday is on April 13.
The date is decided by a complex set of calculations based on observations of the moon.
Schools usually get around two weeks off for the Easter break, as many kids were set to enjoy their holidays from April 3, and go back on April 20.
