The new service, which launches today, will be available from more than 130 Morrisons stores across the UK.

It means shoppers have another way to get food to their home while online delivery slots continue to be snapped up at an unprecedented rate.

Morrisons customers will need to order their groceries on the Deliveroo app or website.

This means they'll need to be signed up to Deliveroo to place an order.

Deliveroo listed a delivery fee of £4.50, plus a service charge of 49p - we've asked Deliveroo if this is standard, or if it depends on your area.

The online delivery service also charges a "small order fee" if your total order is under £15.

This fee varies depending on how much you've spent, as Deliveroo will add on a charge to take your total order up to £19.99, including the delivery fee and service charge.

All deliveries will be contact-free with Deliveroo riders leaving the deliveries at customers’ doors to collect, minimising person-to-person contact.

Morrisons chief executive David Potts said: “Our partnership with Deliveroo will help us to continue to play our full part in feeding the nation.

“It’s a great combination of traditional and modern methods and it will provide more vulnerable people with the opportunity to receive their home delivery.”

Ajay Lakhwani, vice president of new business at Deliveroo said: “With families and vulnerable people in isolation, it is more important than ever that we make sure they have access to the essential household items they need.

“During this worrying period we want to play our role in making sure people have access to a range of items, in particular the vulnerable who cannot leave their homes.”
