WE’VE only had a few days of lockdown but parents are already running out of ways to entertain children wanting to enjoy the sunshine.
So today, for the last day of our Keep Kids Busy week, I’ve put together tips for fun in your garden.
From games to DIY water pistols, have a go at these:
SPLASH OUT: No super soaker? There’s an alternative. Rinse old ketchup bottles and fill them with water and you’ve got a DIY water pistol. Warning: The kids will use these against you!
Homemade sprinklers are easy with a used old squash bottle. Pierce several holes in the side of the bottle and attach the nozzle (lid off) to the hose with tape. Hours of fun.
TWO BECOME FUN: It’s easy to create a giant game of pairs in the garden. All you need is 12 sheets of paper and a felt-tip pen. Parents should draw two of each shape (hearts, squares, circles) and then lay them face down on the grass. Kids can then turn them over in twos, trying to match them.
