Moonpig accused of ‘ruining’ Valentine’s Day by furious shoppers who’ve been sent cards meant for other people
LOVEBIRDS have accused Moonpig of "ruining" Valentine's Day by sending cards to the wrong people.
Customers have shared photos of the personalised cards online to slam the firm and reunite them with those who they're actually addressed to.
This year the card firm has sent out over two million personalised cards, gifts and flowers on February 14 and admits that its received complaints from a "handful of customers" today.
Carla Paxton was left reeling after a Moonpig blunder left her opening up a card addressed to someone called Holly.
"Anyone ordered a card for Holly... from Morgan?" she wrote on Facebook. "We have been sent the wrong card."
Another Moonpig customer accused the firm of "c***ing up" St Cupid's Day for his fiance by sending him the wrong card and a bunch of "battered" rainbow lilies.
After sending the firm an angry tweet, he added: "However if anyone knows an Elizabeth Abell in Nottingham please let her know Luke loves her.
Ellie received a card featuring photographs of a loved up man and woman that wasn't herself or partner, alongside the caption: "Happy Valentine's Day to my gorgeous April."
She wrote: "I’d like to publicly thank @MoonpigUK for sending my boyfriend somebody else’s Valentines Day card...
"I’d also like to apologise to the poor lass out there who has received a 29cm x 41cm picture of my face looking like a thumb... #sorryApril"
Lanta said: "Oops @MoonpigUK mixed up my wifes valentines day card and sent us someone else's!
"Someone has our card with "Happy Valentine's Gay" on the front.
"Tammy I have your card from Sheldon. Where are you Tammy?! #findtammy #Valentine2020."
If you've been sent the wrong card, Moonpig advises that you let them know as soon as possible and they can advise you whether or not you're owed a refund.
If you have been sent completely the wrong card then you will be able to get your money back under the Consumer Rights Act.
This is because the goods that you ordered are nothing like what was advertised.
Customers who made the mistakes themselves, such as mis-spelling a name, are not likely to get their money back.
If you paid for special delivery service, such as making sure your goods are delivered on a specific day, then you should also get those charged refunded too.
A spokesperson from Moonpig told The Sun: "A handful of customers have contacted us today to say there has been an issue with their order and we’re extremely sorry to have disappointed them on this important day.
"We know that these orders and the loved ones they are destined for are extremely special so we are engaging directly with these customers to put things right."
