Tesco slashes price of Celebrations, Quality Street, Roses and Heroes tubs to £2.50

TESCO has slashed the price of Celebrations, Quality Street, Roses and Heroes tubs to £2.50 - down from £4 before Christmas.

Bargain hunters are stocking up on the deal as the supermarket has dropped prices to clear festive stock.

Online shoppers won't be able to pick up the offer though as Tesco told The Sun it's only available in stores.

The tubs, which weigh between 600g and 650g, are only available as long as stocks last, which means not all branches will have them in supply.

But they could be worth picking up even if you're currently on a January diet because you can store them away until the next big family gathering.

To avoid disappointment, give your local Tesco store a ring to ask whether it has any stock before popping over.

The deal was shared by a shopper in the on Facebook, and it's proved popular among chocolate fans.

One user tagged her friend and said: "Omg. I hope that's in every Tesco," while another added: "Mum go to Tesco please."

But not everyone's keen to eat more chocolate after Christmas, as one said: "The thought of buying more makes me feel sick lol."

One shopper reported that you can get an even better deal at Asda where boxes are selling for £2, 50p cheaper than at Tesco.

If you prefer shopping online, is currently selling the same tins for a pricier £4, down from £5.

Tubs of the popular Christmas treats shrunk again last year, despite prices in shops staying the same.

Meanwhile, Quality Street has increased the number of popular sweets in tins.

Just two days after Christmas, Tesco reduced festive chocolates including Nestle, Reese's and Swizzels - and the prices started at 25p.
