Asda slashes 6ft Christmas tree prices in half and they start from £12.50
LAST minute shoppers can bag a light-up 6ft artificial Christmas tree from Asda for just £12.50.
The tree originally cost £25 at full price, so you'll be saving £12.50 in the deal.
The supermarket has already cut the price of some of its festive trees by up to 50 per cent, five days before Christmas.
You won't need to buy fairy lights because the tree is sprinkled with white LEDs at the end of the branches that twinkle when plugged in.
Not all of the branches light up though - there are 425 tips and only 120 of them have fairy lights.
The tree stands at 6ft - or 183cm - and is 96cm at its widest point.
There are two other 6ft artificial trees in the sale, including a 6ft cashmere cone and berry tree that now costs £17.50 down from £35.
The slightly posher fir comes decorated with realistic berries and pine cones on them but you'll need to buy your fairy lights separately.
A black Christmas fir tree is also in the sale for £17.50 down from £35.
Or if you've got room for a bigger one then you can save £45 on a 7ft pre-lit tree that's down from £90.
But you can save even more cash by shopping for a last minute Christmas tree at Argos, where a 6ft black fir costs just £6.75, or £9.38 for a pre-lit green one.
Asda has also slashed the price of some festive decorations, with prices starting at £1 for a pack of 26 red baubles.
Many high street retailers have launched their Boxing Day sales early this year with some slashing prices by up to 72 per cent.
So far, the early sales haven't been as good as they were last year, with some retailers slashing prices by up to 80 per cent.
Shoppers have used the sales to bag next year's advent calendars - Tesco has dropped prices from £8 to £1.50 - while one shopper bagged a £70 Nivea calendar for £10 in the Morrisons sale.
