Greene King pubs launch GIANT pigs in blankets wrapped in Yorkshire puddings for Christmas
ARGUABLY you can't have Christmas dinner without Yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets - but now Greene King pubs has combined the two for its new festive menu.
The pub chain's "Jingle Bells Hound" dish sees two giant pigs in blankets wrapped in large Yorkshire puddings.
On the side are roast potatoes topped with more chopped pigs in blankets - because you can't get enough - with crumbled stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a boozy cheese sauce.
If that wasn't enough, there's a jug of gravy to wash it all down with.
Greene King has also introduced a limited edition festive wings challenge featuring two kilograms of crispy chicken wings, topped with chopped pigs in blankets, crumbled stuffing, boozy cheese sauce and cranberry sauce.
The dishes are both being served at Greene King's 141 Flaming Grill pubs around the UK.
Prices start from £12.99 although they do vary by location, so first.
Given they're on the large side you could share the dish with friends, or those up for the challenge can polish it off themselves.
If you do finish every last morsel on your own in one sitting, you'll get a certificate and might be featured on the pub's "Wall of Fame".
You can also get 25 per cent off the dishes on Fridays whether you take it as a challenge or share it - but you've only got until December 31 before they're taken off the menu.
We've asked Greene King how many calories is in each dish and we'll update this story as soon as we get a response.
An adult man should eat 2,500 calories a day, while it's 2,000 for a woman, according to NHS guidelines.
Jane Byron, brand controller at Flaming Grill, said: “Christmas is a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate with seasonal food and drinks.
"The Jingle Bells Hound challenge is perfect for sharing with friends; it combines our favourite traditional festive foods in a fun and exciting way."
