Argos slashes Christmas tree and decoration prices by up to a third

HOUSEHOLDS planning to deck their halls this weekend might want to check out Argos, which has a third off Christmas decorations and trees.
Prices start from just £2.50 for baubles and stars for the top of trees ranging to £50 for a 7ft pre-lit Christmas tree.
Of course, just because it's got a sale on doesn't mean it's going to be cheapest so always use a price comparison site to check prices elsewhere first.

And if you can wait until after Christmas, there may be even bigger discounts to be had as retailers often try to clear their festive stock.
Just bear in mind delivery costs if you're ordering online at Argos. The retailer charges different fees depending on the size of the item and how quickly you want it to arrive.
Standard home delivery costs from £3.95, but you can click and collect in stores for free.

It's proved popular among shoppers with an average of four out of five stars on Argos from 1,133 reviews.
We couldn't find 7ft artificial trees being sold for less than this at other major online retailers.

Argos Home 6ft Mixed Tip Snowy Pre Lit Christmas Tree

If you'd prefer a tree that's already got its lights on it, you might want to splash out on this one, which also has snowy tips and faux pine cones attached to it.
The tree has 550 tips with hinged branches and comes with a stand.
is selling a similar 6ft pre-lit Christmas tree for £10 less at £24.99 (plus free delivery) but it doesn't say how many tips it has and it doesn't have the snowy branches and pine cones.
also has a 6ft tree for £35 but again there's no winter effect and it has fewer tips at 515.
Argos Home Set of Four Outdoor Wreath Garland

For a festive fix outside your home, Argos is selling this cute set of miniature outdoor garlands.
There's a wreath for your front door, two mini Christmas trees to stand either side of your doorstep, and a festive bough to hang above your door.
They're all pre-lit with LED lights powered by AA batteries so you don't need to worry about having an outdoor plug socket to use them.
But the batteries don't come included so don't forget to buy those too.
The cheapest we could find a similar set being sold for online was at , which is charging £31.99, plus £4.99 delivery.
Argos Home Winters Cabin Silver Baubles - 48 Pack

For a classy finish to your Christmas tree you might want to check out this 48-pack of baubles from Argos, which is on sale for just over 8p a bauble.
The shatterproof set includes three different metallic shades of charcoal, silver, and white, and they're all pre-threaded.
In comparison, is selling a 40-pack of shatterproof silver baubles for £3.50 - also making it just over 8p a bauble. You can click and collect in store for free or delivery is £3.50 or free on orders over £50.
Argos Home 12 Pack Berry Christmas Mini Shaker Baubles Gold

These pretty baubles are made from clear glass and filled with tiny, shimmering, gold stars.
They're even tied with gold ribbons ready for you to hang straight on your tree.
We couldn't find similar baubles being sold for less online.
In comparison, is selling a smaller eight-pack of mini baubles filled with gold stars for a pricier £2.75.
Argos Home Candle Arch Christmas Light - Red

This pretty light-up candle set would jazz up any windowsill or table.
The bottom is wooden, while the candles are LED bulbs. You need two AA batteries to power the candles and these aren't included so you'll have to buy them separately.
This is the cheapest price we could find a seven-candle arch being sold for. In comparison, has a plain wooden version for £9.99, with delivery starting from £3.95 (it's free on orders over £50).
