LEGO shoppers disappointed at £25 Harry Potter and Star Wars advent calendars missing pieces
FRUSTRATED Harry Potter and Star Wars fans have been plagued by missing pieces in their LEGO advent calendars.
Shoppers have been posting on Twitter after they’ve opened doors only to find that some items are duplicated, pieces are missing or sometimes they’re getting characters from completely different series.
Several Harry Potter fans have been left flummoxed when a door that was supposed to reveal a festive turkey actually contained a croissant instead.
Other shoppers have found figurines without their heads, and there have been reports of Star Wars weapons and aircraft missing crucial parts.
One Twitter user, Craig, tweeted: “Disappointed son when advent calendar mini figure arrived with no head!”
Another called Andy commented: “Star Wars advent calendar, day two and it’s missing a piece. I have a one winged fighter.”
While Chloe added: “My son opened his Star Wars advent calendar this morning only for one of the pieces to be missing, disappointed little boy, luckily he found a piece he could use in his box!”
Even though the majority of the issues seem to be around missing pieces, some fans have found that they’ve ended up with the wrong characters altogether.
For instance Tracy said: “My son was very disappointed on December 1 when he opened his LEGO Harry Potter advent calendar and instead of getting Harry he got Ron. “Hope he gets Harry at some point.”
And Cameron had similar issues. He said: “I’m disappointed to discover a problem with my LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar today.
“After opening door six which clearly shows it should be a Professor McGonagall mini figure, I instead had a duplicate of door two which was the toy train.”
Although perhaps most confused was Ross who received a Star Wars figure in a Harry Potter calendar.
He tweeted: “Bought a Harry Potter LEGO advent calendar. Seems to have a Star Wars crossover.
“Very surprising role for the professor. #harrypotter #adventcalendareasteregg #theforceisstrongathogwarts”.
The three calendars that seem to have been affected are the Star Wars calendar, the Harry Potter calendar and the LEGO City calendar.
The Harry Potter version is available at Argos in the clearance sale at £19.50 but originally retailed at £25, while the Star Wars version is in the Argos sale at £20, but it doesn’t say what the original retail price was.
And the LEGO City calendar originally sold for £23, but is now available for £17.
LEGO’s social media team has been responding quickly to the complaints online, trying to reunite people with their missing LEGO blocks.
A spokesperson told the Sun: “Quality standards is something we take very seriously at The LEGO Group… and we are sorry if any children have been disappointed by missing pieces in their advent calendars.
“We are currently investigating the matter with our production and quality teams and advise anyone who thinks there is a problem with their advent calendar to contact LEGO customer services where they will be able to help rectify the issue.”
You can call the LEGO team on 0800 5346 5555 if you spot a fault in your calendar.
Alternatively, you can tweet them @LEGO_Group.
Cadbury fans are also fuming as their £10 3D Christmas advent calendars contain two fudges in five days.
While parents say kids are in tears after opening empty Cadbury advent calendars.
But Home Bargains and B&M have cut the price of chocolate and beauty advent calendars to just 50p.
