MAGICAL unseen footage of E.T eating cupcakes and playing in the snow has been revealed.
The scenes are part of an extended version of Sky's Christmas advert, which have been released following the popularity of its festive campaign.
Last week Sky unveiled its Christmas advert which features E.T returning to earth to visit a grown-up Elliot.
The 2 minute long advert was praised by viewers as the "winner of the Christmas adverts".
But now Sky has revealed a new four-minute version of the story, with additional scenes showing more about the heartwarming reunion.
It begins with Elliot's two young children playing outside the house, throwing snowballs at each other.
Suddenly the Christmas lights begin to flicker and the kids discover ET hidden behind a snowman in the garden.
The kids scream and ET asks for "Elliot", as their awe-stuck dad appears and he says: "You came back".
Elliot introduces him to his children and his wife and says: "A lot has changed since you were here".
E.T moves inside where he uses his powers to revive dead flowers into healthy blooms.
Elliot's son introduces him to the internet and E.T makes a gesture to suggest the idea is mind blowing, in a cute new scene.
He then joins the family at the dinner table where he is encouraged to eat a cupcake.
We also see why E.T found the VR headset so shocking, as it is revealed he is in a virtual world of dinosaurs.
Then the family move outside to play in the snow, where they ride a toboggan and make snow angels.
They then settle down to watch a film, where a sleepy child drifts off while snuggling on the sofa.
The Extra Terrestrial picks up a bike and drives the children into the sky, to the top of the hill, before saying: "I'll be right here"
The extra-long advert also ends with a photo of the family and ET stuck on the fridge and the caption: "Reconnect this Christmas".
The dad is played by Henry Thomas, who starred as Elliot in the original film.
The iconic film E.T the Extra-Terrestrial was released in June 1982 and directed by Steven Spielberg.
It starred Drew Barrymore and was one of the top earning films of the 1980s, also winning two Oscars.
It was rated the greatest science fiction film ever made in a Rotten Tomatoes survey.
The advert was made in connection with Universal Pictures, as it part of the Comcast and Sky business.
The new extended version is available to watch on the Sky Q homepage from 7pm today.
Sky will also be releasing it on its website and social media channels.
The John Lewis advert - which this year features an excitable dragon called Edgar - is widely regarded as the biggest Christmas advert of the festive season.
But it was Very's tear-jerking advert about a lonely old man that won the crown as most emotional advert, according to research by Unruly.
Last week we revealed how shoppers were fighting over Kevin the Carrot toys in Aldi today.
The carrot is the star of Aldi's festive campaign for the fourth year running.
