Caffe Nero launches new Christmas menu – and reveals 10,000 free coffee giveaway

CAFFE Nero has launched its new Christmas menu and it includes a pigs in blankets toastie and a red velvet cake.

The cafe chain is also giving away 10,000 free coffees to loyal customers to celebrate the festive season.

Officially called a tostati melt, the pigs in blankets lunch option is made with British sausages, coffee-cured bacon, mascarpone cheese and cranberry sauce.

We're not sure how many calories are in the sarnie but we do know that it costs £4.35.

For pud, there's a delicious-sounding red velvet bauble cake up for grabs for £3.25 a slice.

The cake has three layers of sponge and is filled and decorated with cream cheese frosting, finished with sparkling ball, chocolate curls and icing sugar.

Customers can also build their own festive latte or hot chocolate where you can choose from a range of milk such as dairy or soya, and adding in a choice of flavoured syrups.

These include salted caramel drizzle, spice ginger with cinnamon, hazelnut and chocolate chip and caramelised almond with golden crunch.

Prices vary depending on what size you choose - for the lattes, a small costs £2.25, a medium £2.75 or £3 for a grande.

And for the hot chocolate it's  £2.50, £2.90 or £3.20 respectively.

You'll also need to pay an extra 50p for the syrup shot, 35p for marshmallows and 50p for the cream if you ordered a latte.

If you want a drink on the house, then you'll have to pay for a hot drink between November 7 and December 24 using Caffe Nero's app.

You'll then be entered into a weekly prize draw to be in with a chance to win a free coffee, up until Christmas Eve.

Seven lucky winners will also scoop a top prizes of unlimited coffees for a year.

The is free to download and customers can collect loyalty stamps - your 10th drink is free.

Will Stratton-Morris, CEO at Caffe Nero UK, said: "We wanted to celebrate the launch by rewarding our loyal customers the best way we know how – more free coffees on us."

Other mains on the menu include a brie, bacon and cranberry panini that's made with sourdough bread that costs £4.45.

Customers can also no get their hands on the turkey feast ciabatta for £4.45, which is made with a pork and apricot stuffing.

There is also a Christmas beef pastrami and horseradish deli sandwich that comes with a mix or crispy potato, carrot and red onion, tomatoes and spinach.

It's the most expensive item on the menu at £5.25, while the festive mixed grain salad is the cheapest at £1.90 for a side portion or £3.80 for a main.

Star-topped vegan mince pies are also the line-up for dessert but will set you back £2 each, compared to a pack of six supermarket ones that cost 87p for a box.
