McDonald’s could be extending its US breakfast menu to include chicken next year
CHICKEN-LOVERS rejoice as McDonald's is set to add chicken to its breakfast menu throughout the US in 2020.
The plans were first discovered in leaked internal documents seen by Business Insider.
It is not yet clear what the new breakfast meal will be - but recent McDonald's breakfast trials may hold the key.
In July this year, McDonald's tested McChicken Muffins in Connecticut, and in Los Angeles the chain trialled Chicken McGriddles and McChicken Biscuits.
So, it seems likely that it will be one (or more) of these options that's being rolled out nationwide.
It comes in at 390 calories per serving.
Finally, the McChicken Biscuit is the same patty but inside two halves of a biscuit.
We don't have exact prices form any of the chicken options, but people who seen them regionally have reported prices of less than $3 (£2.31).
According to Business Insider, the chain currently serves chicken offerings at breakfast at roughly half of its locations in the US.
McDonald's isn't the only fast food chain jumping on the breakfast chicken bandwagon.
