How to get a real Christmas tree from Ikea for £9

CHRISTMAS shoppers might want to head down to Ikea today where they can snap-up a real Christmas tree for just £9.

From today (November 21) until December 24, shoppers who buy a real 5.2ft (160cm) Ikea Christmas tree for £29 will be given a £20 Ikea voucher in return.

This makes the effective cost of the tree just £9, plus you have some extra cash to nab a few things from the Swedish furniture manufacturer.

In comparison, is also selling a real 5ft Christmas tree for £29, while has 5ft to 6ft real fir trees for a pricier £65, and the closest in size we could find at was an 8.8ft tree for £110.

Last year, Ikea's tree in the offer was a taller six-foot and it cost £4 less at £25, bringing the effective cost down to just a fiver once you factored in the £20 gift voucher.

This time round, the offer will be available in all 22 Ikea stores nationwide, although order collection point stores and planning studios are excluded.

There are also a couple of catches you need to be aware of, for example, the only tree in the offer is Ikea's "ABIES NORDMANNIANA Christmas tree" (article number: 80228363).

And the tree doesn't come potted or with a stand, so you'll need to buy one of these separately.

Plus, the gift card can only be spent after Christmas between January 13 and February 23, 2020.

The voucher itself also can't be used on online or app purchases or for spending in Ikea's restaurant, Swedish food market or bistro.

In addition, it can't be used on home delivery, kitchen planning or installation pick and delivery services.

Only one voucher can be used per transaction but purchases made using a voucher are still covered by .
