Taco Bell launches spicy Reaper Ranch tortilla chips – and you can get them in Walmart and 7-Eleven

TACO Bell has turned up the heat with the launch of the fast food chain's hottest tortilla chips yet - and they're infused with Carolina Reaper chilli.

The Mexican-inspired food joint says the chips are inspired by its Reaper Ranch sauce which is flavoured with the infamous pepper.

The Carolina Reaper chilli has been dubbed the spiciest chilli in the world and is 230 times spicier than a jalapeño pepper.

It has a Scoville heat unit rating of 1,641,183.

This new flavour is the hottest ever produced in the Taco Bell tortilla range, trumping other flavours including classic, mild, fire and diablo.

Shoppers brave enough to try to new chips can expect a cool blast of ranch flavouring before the Carolina Reaper pepper heat kicks in.

They'll be sold in 3.5-oz and 9.25-oz bags.

Pricing will vary from store to store, but we've asked Taco Bell for the recommended retail price and we'll update this story when we know more.

The new tortilla chips come just months after Taco Bell released "Steak Reaper Ranch Fries" back in July.

This features fries loaded with cheese, Reaper sauce, peppers and marinated steak.
