silly jean

Trendy trousers that feature more flesh than fabric are this season’s hottest look…. but are you brave enough to try it?

Our model takes on this season’s trendiest trousers - which feature even more flesh than fabric

RIPPED jeans just got torn a new one. This season’s trendiest trousers now feature even more flesh than fabric.

The catwalk has recently been full of extreme designs — such as cut out pockets, lacing all up the front and even legs attached by suspenders.

Hadid first  . . .  Gigi in her £423 denim chaps

Model Gigi Hadid, 22, wore a pair of sexy chaps earlier this year by designer brand Y-Project that cost £423

But the high street is catching on, with Asos and Topshop the latest to offer bizarre (but affordable) styles.

So is this style fad pure jean-ius, or just another hole lot of nonsense?

Here, SIOBHAN O’CONNOR asks north London model Isadora Amorim, 26, to try the radical styles and give her verdict on them, and a mark out of ten.

Exposed bum cheek – 2/10

David Cummings - The Sun
Blue suspender jeans, £85, Topshop; bralet, £12.99, New Look; gold sheer top, £18, Topshop; heels, £59, Office

My bum is on display, I can’t bend over without revealing too much. I just don’t understand the style.

Thigh-high – 4/10

David Cummings - The Sun
Black joggers with brace clip-ons, £18, PrettyLittleThing.com; ruffled body, £9.99, New Look; velvet court heels, £25, Dorothy Perkins

I guess the braces mean you actually get two styles in one. But I’m worried they will come undone with fast walking.

Front lace-up – 3/10

David Cummings - The Sun
Black lace-up front leggings, £22, Boohoo .com; white lace up back top, £12.99, Dressedinlucy.com; red heels, £19.99, New Look

I’ve had to go commando. The material is really comfortable but the lacing is too racy and a nightmare to do up, too.

Pocket cut-out – 9/10

David Cummings - The Sun
Jeans cut-out pockets, £25.99, Pull & Bear; crop top, £26, River Island; heels, £30, PrettyLittle Thing.com

If you don’t mind flashing a slither of flesh, these are a stylish option. You still have to give up your knickers though.

Side lace-up – 2/10

David Cummings - The Sun
Blue jeans with lace-up sides, £30, Pretty LittleThing.com; white top, £4, Topshop; silver heels, £39, Miss Selfridge

I feel naked. I can’t wear knickers and you can almost see my bum. Not exactly comfy either. But blue looks less racy.

Suspender-style – 2/10

David Cummings - The Sun
Black leggings with O-ring cut out, £15, Forever 21; blue top, £14, Miss Selfridge; black heels, £60, Office

They remind me of Julia Robert’s dress in Pretty Woman. Quite flattering but I’m not keen on the leather-look effect.
