Ivanka Trump is mocked online after posting a photo of herself reading fan letters… with many asking if her DAD wrote them
The 35-year-old First Daughter and White House senior adviser shared the images on Instagram and Twitter
IVANKA Trump has been relentlessly mocked online after sharing a photograph of herself reading fan mail.
The 35-year-old First Daughter and White House senior adviser took to Instagram and Twitter on Thursday to share images of herself looking through the letters and colourful drawings she has recently received.
“Overjoyed by these beautiful letters. Reading them is one of the highlights of my week,” she wrote.
The first photo sees Ivanka sitting at a large wooden conference table while sorting through the letters.
The second picture is a close-up image of the thank you notes, but it’s unclear what the notes of gratitude are for.
Ivanka’s social media feeds were flooded with negative comments, with many users joking the fan mail was from her dad, President Donald Trump.
Justin Arnold said: “Your dad’s handwriting has improved greatly!”
While Stephen Harper tweeted: “Wow! How does @realDonaldTrump find the time to write so many letters!?”
Guy Endore-Kaiser wrote: “I wish your dad would spend more time studying policy and less time writing you all these letters.”
Helen Kennedy asked: “What are they thanking you for?”, while Russell West added: “Are they get well cards or something? Or are they encouraging you to take away your father’s phone so he stops tweeting.”
Sceptics questioned if the notes had come from White House office staff, while others zoomed in on a handmade card that featured a face with dollar signs for eyes.
Lennie Briscoe wrote: “Whatever staffer made these fake letters to Ivanka Trump, I loved this little touch – was it a commentary on being blinded by greed?”
Elliot Waiver joked that “maybe this one is real”, while @digggles said: “We love a role model”.
Meanwhile, Trump’s eldest daughter took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to say she is “praying” for those who are in the path of Hurricane Harvey, which is speeding toward the Texas coast.
“For those in #HurricaneHarvey’s path, we are praying for you. Please check out //hurricanes.gov for preparedness tips. Stay safe!” she tweeted.
The “storm of the decade” wrought havoc last night with 130mph winds, 40 inches of rain and catastrophic floods.
Initially a Category 4 hurricane, it is the strongest to hit the United States since Wilma in 2005 where 64 people died and £24billion worth of damage was caused.
Among the worst hit places were the cities of Corpus Christi and Rockport, where one person died and rescuers were expecting to find more bodies.
