An amazing new Game Of Thrones theory explains why the White Walkers haven’t moved for two seasons… and it makes perfect sense
GAME of Thrones fans have been treated to an epic seventh season brimming with action, adventure and intrigue.
But as good as the latest series has been, a few gaping plot holes have started to creep in to the later episodes.
One thing which fans have found particularly bizarre is the fact that the White Walkers, despite their name, have barely moved an inch for two seasons.
Led by the sinister Night King, the Army of the Dead have been patiently, and a little too conveniently, waiting around north of the wall since season five.
With screen-time dedicated to the many other plot lines unfolding in the show, we've barely heard a peep from the White Walkers since episode eight of the fifth season.
And Game of Thrones fans were so unconvinced by this that one mocked up a hilarious map of Westeros which compares Jon Snow and the White Walkers' progress since that episode.
As the map shows, Jon has been frantically dashing all over the UK-inspired island, while the Walkers have shuffled barely a few miles.
But now, an all-new fan theory has explained why the Walkers have been waiting around for so long... and the reason is truly sinister.
The most shocking part of the latest episode came right at the end, when the Night King reanimated downed dragon Viserion.
With a dragon on their side, the Army of the Dead may have finally gained the upper hand over Dany's mighty army.
Before this, the Walkers had no real way to topple the huge Wall which keeps them from the rest of Westeros.
This means they may have had no choice but to climb The Wall, which would have resulted in loads of them being offed by the defending Knight's Watch.

But throw a dragon into the equation and there's now a way for the zombie army to burn the wall to the ground and simply walk right on through.
And fans think this explains why the walkers have barely moved for a few seasons: they were waiting for their enemies to come to them.
Rather than invading Westeros and fighting a battle on the living's terms, the Army of the Dead stayed put on their own turf, where they could bait Daenerys into bringing her dragons.
Dany had no idea how easy her dragons could be killed by the Night King, so it was the best chance for the dead to get hold of one of the fire-breathing beasts.
Now, with a dragon behind them, the zombie army has a shot at bringing down the wall and taking the fight to the living.
And if this sounds a little far-fetched, just remember that the Night King has interacted with all-seeing Bran Stark in his visions, so may be gifted with similar powers to see the future.
Of course, this isn't the first fan theory to turn the show's plot on it head.
Previously, we told how one fan reckoned they'd worked out who will end up killing the Night King... and it's not Jon Snow.
And another shocking theory suggests that there's bad news for Daenerys now Jon is willing to bend the knee.
