The Chase celebrities slaughter the Governess to bag £152k… but viewers can’t believe Steve Davis failed to answer this easy sporting question
THE Chase celebrity special ended in a bumper haul for charity - with only one major slip-up as the contestants stormed through with the cash.
Last night, host Bradley Walsh was joined by food critic Jay Rayner, comedian Lucy Porter, newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy and snooker legend Steve Davis for the celebrity edition of the popular quiz show.

The famous foursome came up against The Governess, and it soon became clear that she was outclassed by the celebrity contestants.
In an impressive display, the four famous faces ended up bagging a bumper haul of £152,000, to be donated to their chosen charities.
However, the team's biggest slip-up came when sportsman Steve Davis ended up fluffing an all-too-easy football question.
The six-time world snooker champ went up against The Governess after the other three celeb contestants had already got back and bagged £150,000.
Following his team's advice, Steve opted to play it safe and ended up making it back with £2,000 after his 1v1.
However, he missed his cue and nearly slipped up along the way when he fluffed a question on the football World Cup.

The Chase was on when Steve was asked his first question: "Which international football team is the subject of the 2016 book 'Fifty Years of Hurt'?"
Panicking as the clock ticked down, the usually cool-headed snooker legend guessed Germany.
Wincing, he said: "I don't like it because somebody in the crowd went: 'ooh'."
Bradley replied: "Well don't worry about it, it's too late."

The answer was, of course, England, with "50 Years of Hurt" an unofficial motto shared by all England supporters to refer to our last World Cup win - all the way back in 1966.
And the book in question, by Times journalist Henry Winter, takes that same slogan as its title.

But as was well in the end, with the famous foursome storming through the final stage to take home all the money.
The bumper £152,00 jackpot will be split between the group to be donated to their chosen charities: the Food Chain, Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Duchenne Children's Trust and St Francis' Hospice.
