A-Level students are joking about the pressure of results day with these tongue-in-cheek memes

IT'S A-Level results day, and nervous students are taking to social media to ease the pressure with a series of tongue-in-cheek memes.

Despite major reforms to make the exams more challenging, teens have defied expectations as the number of entrants securing an A grade has gone UP in the first year.

This follows panicking exam boards dropping grade boundaries to show “all our kids are brilliant”.

Prior to receiving their results, many students took to social media to share their coping strategies.

Many illustrated their tweets with amusing memes, with one pointing out: "You can’t fail if you don’t open the envelope." Sound advice, there.

Another observed: "Remember: When you think everything is going against you, remember airplanes take off against the wind (sic)!"

Students who don't make the grade are able to use clearing to find out what courses still have places remaining.

Whatever your results, Pizza Express is giving out a free portion of dough balls to A-Level students who come in with an exam slip.

If you're more of a Nando's fan, the restaurant is offering a free quarter of chicken or starter - but you have to spend £7 to get it.
