Surprisingly, several European destinations are still the least expensive for beer, despite the disastrous exchange rate
PLACES like Prague and Krakow have long been attractive destinations for stag and hen dos due to their cheap booze and booming nightlife.
But with the poor exchange rate in the wake of Brexit, are there still good deals to be had in Europe when it comes to buying a pint of beer?
FX comparison site Travelex pooled data from the Office for National Statistics and its own currency exchange rates to work the average cost of beer in Brit tourist hot-spots.
Surprisingly, the results revealed that the best deals to be had remain within Europe.
If you're after a boozy holiday, the cheapest place to buy a pint is Bulgaria, where a cold one will set you back less than a quid at 97p (2.00лв).
This is closely followed by the Czech Republic and Hungary, with a beer costing just £1.07 (30.00Kč) and £1.09 (350.00 Ft) respectively.
Admittedly these countries don't deal in the Euro, but Portugal came in at fifth, with the average pint selling for £1.35 (€1.50).
Spain was number 11th cheapest, yet the difference in price wasn't hugely substantial, with the price of a beer just £1.80 (€2).

Thailand was sixth, followed by South Africa, Poland, Jamaica and Barbados.
The UK is still one of the most expensive places to buy a beer, with an average pint costing £3.50 - more than three times what a pint sells for in Bulgaria.
