Tattoos that look like they were drawn by a child are the latest body art trend
IT DOESN'T look like Tattoo Fixers will run out of people in need of getting their ink reworked any time soon - the latest body art trend is to get as terrible tatt as possible.
Brazilian artist Helena Fernandes, 26, is the proud founder of Malfeitona, a home studio that specialises in 'trash tattoos'.
Her designs - which look like they've been scrawled on a mate's hand during a particularly boring math lesson - have amassed her a huge online following.
As well as the 17,000 people who can't get enough of her Instagram page, she's also dozens of five star reviews from delighted customers on .
claims that Helena is self-taught, and began her tattoo career after friends encouraged her to buy a kit online and permanently marking them with her unusual doodles.
The first tattoo she ever did was a bat on her boyfriend's leg, and since then she has gone to draw more complex designs, including 'planet Earth upset it is about to be made extinct'.
Helena said: "He liked a bat very much and asked me to tattoo, then another friend, and another, and then another..."
In an interview with BuzzFeed Brazil, Helena said that her style has been met with heavy criticism from more established artists, but she claims her "intention is not to disparage anyone's work."
She explained: "My intention is not to fool the craft of tattooing.
"Even because the public that consumes my tattoos does not compete with those of 'good' tattoo artists.
"I think there is space for everyone. I do not think I'm good, I'm a little baby crawling on this tattoo trail."
Another popular trend is getting tiny tattoos inked on to your thumb.
And here are twelve tattoo fails that will leave you wondering how these people managed to navigate adult life.
