Groom splashes £2k on his lavish stag do after planning his wedding on a PIG FARM for his ‘little piggy’ fianceé on Don’t Tell The Bride

A GROOM has taken to Don't Tell The Bride to organise a PIG themed wedding held on a farm.

Cheeky-chap Billy, 27, wants his wedding to fiancée Steph to go down in history – and hopes to nab the record for the most pigs at a wedding in the process.

Meanwhile, prim and proper bride-to-be Steph, 23, dreams of a classic, clean-cut affair.

Billy, a fireman, met Steph, a development executive, four years ago while at a local night club.

Steph says of the night: “He actually said ‘I’m going to marry you one day’ – and here we are.”

Three years later, Billy proposed - but Steph is the first to admit that the pair are “completely different”.

She said: “Everything’s like a bit of a joke to him, I’m a bit more reserved.

“It’s kind of like having a child to look after really!”

The couple, both from Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts, are now set to tie the knot and Billy has a rather unusual name for his wife-to-be, he said: “I call Steph ‘my little piggy’… it just kind of stuck.”

Steph said: “He doesn’t mean it in a bad way, if he sees anything pig related he’ll buy it for me.

“Little pig ornaments and things, he just thinks I’ll like it – it’s a bit strange but I think it’s his loving way, I suppose.”

When it comes to the big day, Steph has big plans.

She says: “The most important thing is the setting… I want everything to refer to our relationship and not be like a joke or something funny – I want everything to have a meaning.

“I want a serious day.”

Meanwhile, Billy has other plans – although his idea certainly does have “meaning”.

He said: “I’d love to have a pig themed wedding.

“Have it amongst a lot of pigs, on a pig farm – I’m sure Steph would like that.

“The bridesmaids could even end up in pig onesies on if I can find them at the right price.

“I think I might try and break a wold record for the amount of pigs we actually have at our wedding.”

With three weeks and £14,000 to plan their wedding, Billy is left to his own devices as he “hogs” organising the big day.

On the first day of planning, Billy calls up Guinness World Records and tells them about his ambitions for his big day – and they swiftly inform him that he would need a minimum of 50 PIGS present to nab the new record.

Spurred on, Billy gets to work on organising the farmyard inspired affair.

And while Steph looks on wide eyed as she goes to view large, classic venues, Billy heads off to a local pig farm in the hopes that he can hold the wedding there.

Seemingly impressed with the price, Billy books the pig farm for £1,000 – adding that he’ll cut back on “the bridesmaids’ dresses, or something.”

For his stag do, Billy splurged £2,000 on a boozy trip to Manchester, while he simply did up the local pub for Steph’s hen night – and she even had to pay for her own taxi there.

And, true to his word, the bridesmaid dresses also took a hit.

Instead of glamorous gowns, the girls are met with the prospect of wearing pink, pig ONESIES for the ceremony – although he does also buy them plain purple frocks for the reception as a “back-up”.

And, in keeping with the theme, Billy also splurges £250 on a pig cake.

For her dress, Steph is hoping for something simple and form-fitting - with nothing too “big and showy off”.

But, when it came to choosing for her, Billy browsed through a selection of more fussy, full-skirted gowns before settling on spending £1,000 on one that his friends helped him vote for.

And, when it dawned on Steph what her wedding was going to be like she was livid.

She said: “This is a joke. I didn't want a themed wedding I wanted a nice wedding.

“I’m so mad now I don't want to go to the wedding I'm fuming.”

But, in the end, love triumphed and Steph even praised Billy’s efforts – even though the big day ended up being soggy in the rain.

Chuffed with his pig themed nuptials, Billy added: “I married the girl of my dreams.”
