Aldi is relaunching its sell-out anti-ageing Lacura Caviar face mask which costs £153 less than its La Prairie rival… but you’d better be quick

The budget supermarket products are touted as an alternative for the pricey La Prairie Skin Caviar Collection

ALDI is bringing back its sell-out anti-ageing skincare range – but you’d better be quick if you’re planning on stocking up.

The popular Lacura Caviar Illumination range, which flew off the shelves when it was first launched, is touted as a bargain priced alternative of the La Prairie Skin Caviar Collection.

Aldi’s Lacura Caviar Illumination 7 Day Intensive Treatment costs just £4.99

While a 50ml pot of La Prairie face cream costs a whopping £298, Aldi’s collection is all priced at under a tenner.

The Lacura Caviar Illumination 3 Minute Mask, which costs £6.99, contains concentrated exfoliants and has been proven to stimulate cell renewal in the skin.

Dubbed the hero of the range, the weekly mask takes just three minutes to work its magic.

By comparison, La Prairie’s Cellular 3-Minute Peel retails at £160.

The Lacura Caviar Illumination collection is made up of a variety of luxurious and lifting creams and treatments which all contain caviar extract.

Rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, caviar extract is an anti-ageing property more commonly found in high-end, expensive beauty products.

The Lacura Caviar Illumination 7 Day Intensive Treatment is priced at just £4.99 and is proven to increase skin hydration by up to 68 per cent and add bounce to the face and neck.

The intensive treatment, which takes 15 minutes, makes up a highly-concentrated 24-hour moisturisation skincare regime to be carried out both day and night for one week.

By comparison, La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Intensive Ampoule Treatment retails at £412 at Harvey Nichols – though this is for a six month course.

There are also face wipes (£1.29) and a Lacura Caviar Illumination Gift Set, priced at £12.99 which includes two ampules of the 7-day intensive treatments as well as the Lacura Caviar Illumination Day Cream and Lacura Caviar Illumination Night Cream.

Speaking about Aldi’s Lacura Vitacell range, Georgios Tzenichristos, a cosmetic formulator from  who specialises in anti-ageing ingredients, told us that the ingredients used in the Aldi creams aren’t “second class”, and that the company could probably charge as much as £30 for its offering if it wanted to.

If you’re keen to get your hands on them, they’ll be available in stores from this Thursday – and you can also order them online.

The budget supermarket is well known for its bargain buys.

Last week it launched four new ready-to-cook meal kits offering five dinners for two people for £14.95… and it’s 71 per cent cheaper than using Hello Fresh.
