David Gandy is the ONLY man to appear on list of Britain’s best paid models… as Cara Delevingne bumps Kate Moss off the top spot
A CATWALK rich list reveals only ONE man is among the top 10 best paid British models - in complete contrast to the controversial BBC’s pay-chart.
The corporation is under huge pressure after admitting vast pay differences between its male and female stars. But it’s a different story in the world of glamour.
Cara Delevingne has been crowned Britain’s highest earning supermodel knocking Kate Moss off the top spot - thanks to her success on social media, according to a new study.
The 24-year-old has made £8m in the last year - a whopping £22,000 a day - after working with brands such as Chanel, Rimmel and Puma.
She is the most popular model on Instagram with 40m followers, compared to Moss, 43, who has just 629,000.
Moss was bumped to third place on the rich list but has still banked £5m in the last year.
She landed lucrative contracts with Equipment and a new jewellery collection with Brazilian designer Ara Vartanian, as well as enjoying her 16th year with Rimmel make-up.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 30, who had her first baby, Jack Oscar, with movie star fiance Jason Statham last month, beat Moss into second place on the list with £6.5m annual earnings.
She has 7.6m followers on Instagram and has deals with Autograph make-up and underwear ranges with Marks & Spencer.
Fourth place on the list went to David Gandy, 37, who is the only man in the top ten and earns £4m a year.
He is the face of Marks & Spencer men’s underwear and loungewear as well as Dolce & Gabbana’s new Light Blue fragrance.

It’s believed Delevingne has scooped the number one spot because she can demand far higher fees thanks to her connection with the Instagram generation.
The figures were compiled by the international lingerie brand Bluebella, based on the models catwalk day rates and commercial deals.
Emily Bendell, chief executive of Bluebella, said: “What this table shows is the power of social media.
“It is obvious that Cara can now command higher rates than Kate because she can reach 40 million shoppers immediately through her Instagram account.
“That is a very powerful incentive to any brand looking for a new face.
“Kate still does not post on Instagram in a personal capacity, just through her agency.
“Kate undoubtedly was wise to maintain her mystique for years by declining to give interviews. But you ignore social media at your peril.
“Kate is still an absolute icon of the fashion industry and she will be in demand over the next decade but she will never rival Cara again in earning power.
“Instagram will determine the stars of the future.”
The study lies in stark contrast to the controversial BBC’s pay-chart revealed for the first time last week.
The broadcaster was slammed after a shocking pay gap was uncovered, showing men are paid significantly more than women for effectively the same jobs.
