Lately, lots of the hype’s been about who's genuine and who's fake. Gabby's come under fire over her feelings for Marcel.

Have they been fake? Because with the pressure of a lie detector test she "fessed up she wasn't in love with him".

Poor Marcel had already declared his love for her on national telly.

But actually it’s refreshing to see a man willing to open up about deeper feelings. Far better than revealing himself to be a player.

Along those lines, bigger news is Calvin Klein model Jamie Jewitt may not be Mr Perfect as first portrayed.

As you would've read in your Sun, he dumped beauty queen girlfriend Georgia Hayden at the first whiff of romance with Camilla Thurlow on the infamous island.

So just how can you weed out the Jamies from the genuine guys? After all, he seemed straightforward if jawdroppingly sexy with it.

No fear, here are six must-know signs that new guy’s a player -

Call it what it is

You've been seeing him for a bit and have probably slipped between the sheets. You seem like boyfriend-girlfriend but in his words he doesn't want to "label it".

Yeah right, he doesn't want to label it because he has every intention to keep his eyes open for a better bet.

And when you're upset as he strolls off with someone new, he can claim a free-pass from guilt: But I never said we were "a thing".

Become a body language detective

The first few times you were together it was electric. You both physically lit up in each other's company.

That's your lust hormones kicking in telling you there’s sexual attraction.

But - and it's a big but - a few meet-ups down the line (and probably after you've slept together) his body language no longer seems in tune with yours.

He's already lost that lustful feeling and is only going through the motions.

Watch for non-excuse excuses

So you two had plans and he drops them for vague reasons. It's that non-committal aspect to his personality popping up.

He doesn't want to give you a specific reason (that he makes up) because it's easier to get caught out that way.

That vague reason probably masks the fact he's been invited to a party, or something, where he doesn't want you to cramp his style.

His brain’s undoubtedly registered the exit-sign on things with you. You just don’t know it.

Roaming eyes

If you get the sense that his eyes flick up every time the pub door opens or people pass by your table, beware. Your intuition’s spotted that he has a roaming eye.

The guy who’s really into you, only has eyes for you. This one’s looking for a better option.

A way with women

Could he charm the pants off your crabby aunt Catherine? Does he always know the right thing to say to a frazzled waitress? Beware those soothing ways are honed over countless encounters with women. Make sure he has isn’t having his ‘way’ elsewhere!

Mr Perfect?

Remember no one’s perfect, even the nearly-perfect you. And if he seems 'perfect' as Jamie Jewitt did, exercise caution.

Some of the biggest players lull you into false security by making you feel it's everything you ever hoped for.

I'm guessing you weren't hoping to discover he was merely passing time with you.
