COUPLES are enjoying risk-free threesomes by bedding sex robots.

They are turning to the lifelike machines to add spice in the bedroom without the emotional complications, a report reveals.

Current designs, often modelled on porn stars, can speak, use facial recognition, can take up to 50 sexual positions, fake orgasm and even “lurch backwards and forwards”.

Others have interchangeable private parts, so they can play the role of a man or woman.

Expert Professor Noel Sharkey said: “They do talk about using them for having a ménage à trois because it would be a safe way for couples to do that without involving someone else.”

The android revolution is forecast in a consultation document released by Prof Sharkey, chairman of the Foundation for Responsible Robotics.

He said guilt-free threesomes was just one of the potential uses for sex bots, which cost from about £4,000 to £11,000.

Others include “teledildonics” — wireless technology which allows a person to stimulate their partner remotely.

The bots could also be used in brothels, be companions for lonely OAPs or help those with crippling sexual shyness or physical disabilities.

Four US companies are already shipping the randy androids, with names such as Roxxxy Gold and Harry Harddrive, across the world.

But Prof Sharkey, from Sheffield University, called for a ban on sinister models, such as those which look like children or fulfil rape fantasies.
